Hi, I'm Mal,

Mal Function to be exact, and I'm here to make your life as a webmaster easier. How ? Well let me explain...

One of the most annoying things about running a web site is noticing that you've got silly spelling errors or links that don't work on your site. What's worse is knowing that thousands of people could have visited your site and found it to be 'faulty'. Not only that but they didn't bother to let you know either !

Well, that's where I come in. My job is to sit quietly somewhere on each of your pages, and when a visitor finds an error, they tell me and I pass the message on to you.

Okay, so now you want to know why I've got to get involved. Well, I make it easier for you, and the user... How ?

  • You don't have to spend time writing forms especially for submitting error reports, because I do that for you. What's more, I personalise each form saving you the trouble.
  • You don't have to decipher hex coded mailto: messages either, because I translate them into an easy to read format for you, like this...
A Image error has been found on your site.

The URL of the page containing the error is:
        URL: http://www.topfun.co.uk/gonmad/malf/index.html

Description of error:
The Mal Function logo (malf_logo.gif) does not display in the web
page. All I get is the broken image icon.

The error is being reported by: Joe.Bloggs@theiraddress.com

Hope this isn't too much trouble,
        Mal Function

  • I'll even provide you with the simple, short snippet of HTML code to add to your pages.

and for the site visitor...

  • A simple form that already knows which page its reporting on and where to send the report.
  • The ability to categorise the error as critical, major, or other levels to signify how urgent a problem it is. If you e-mail programme supports it, Mal will even flag a message as urgent e-mail if either of the two high priority categories have been selected !
  • An easy to recognise logo to point them to error report pages around the WWW.

So now you want to know how to sign up for your free Mal Function service, well guess what... that's easy too.

All you need to do is supply your webmaster e-mail address here, and select the Mal Function logo you wish to use, then the pre-configured HTML code will be sent to you at that address.

That's it... we couldn't have made it any easier.

What's more, sign-up isn't really signing up to anything, all it does is generate the HTML for you, and send it to you. Your details are not dtored anywhere, so you don't even need to contact us if you choose not to use it!

The instructions for use will also be sent with the code, but they are nothing to worry about, it's simply a case of placing the code where you want it on your page... no more configuration is needed at all !

We hereby guarantee that information provided during signup or use of the 'Mal Function' service described here will not be used except to report errors to you regarding your web-site and to determine the extent of use of the service.
